UPM Kymmene established the Cultural Foundation in 2006, at a time of corporate mergers, to ensure the preservation of its nationally valuable art collection in Finland. The collection transferred from the company to the Foundation comprised some 700 works. Today the collection comprises about 600 works.
The purpose of the Foundation is to foster knowledge of the cultural heritage of the Finnish forest industry by owning, exhibiting and supporting related art, knowledge and research. The Foundation aims to promote interaction and stimulate interest, and is a prudent and long-term player in its commitments and investments.
